Photovoltaic power generation, as a leader in the conversion of solar photons into electrical energy, has gradually become an important energy choice with the increasing demand for renewable energy and the growing prominence of environmental issues. With the continuous development of technology and innovations, the efficiency of solar cells is constantly improving, costs are gradually decreasing, and advancements in energy storage technology are helping to popularize photovoltaic power generation, laying a solid foundation for its future. Globally, strong government support and active market promotion have elevated photovoltaic power generation to a new height. The installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation continues to increase, and it is expected that its position in the energy sector will be further reinforced.
Project Introduction

Located in Gengma County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, the Donglao photovoltaic power generation project covers an area of approximately 1.66 million square meters, with an operational period of 25 years, and achieved full-scale grid-connected power generation in June this year. Since the project began operation, the maximum daily power generation has reached 576,200 kWh, enough to supply 4,000 households for one month. The annual power generation can reach 160 million kWh, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 139,300 tons. The generated electricity is sent out through a booster station and connected to the local power grid via a 110 kV line, effectively enhancing regional power supply, ensuring energy security, reducing carbon emissions, and further promoting the establishment of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system. It injects "green" energy into the economic and social development of Lincang City and contributes to achieving the goals of "carbon neutrality and carbon peak."
The Donglao photovoltaic power generation project in Gengma County has a total of 31 inverter communication cabinets configured. The collection lines are divided into five groups and connected using direct-buried optical cables. Communication is established by connecting the data of the box transformer station to the inverter communication cabinets based on the arrangement of the box transformer station and the collection lines. The 31 inverter communication cabinets are divided into five fiber communication rings; the communication optical cable uses GYFTA53-16B1 type optical cable. Inverter switches, video switches, and fiber fusion boxes are arranged in the low-voltage cabinet on the low-voltage side of the box transformer to ensure the normal transmission of monitoring data. All switches on site must have ring network functionality.
Project Challenges

Photovoltaic power stations are mainly constructed in complex terrain conditions such as mountainous and hilly areas, where the surface is uneven and oriented in various directions. The harshness of the environment may involve extreme weather conditions, high or low temperatures, high humidity, sandstorms, strong winds, etc. These challenging conditions necessitate high-performance and endurance requirements for the equipment being configured and installed to ensure the stability and reliability of system operation.
Project Requirements

The photovoltaic power station involves a variety of monitoring equipment, necessitating real-time understanding of the station's operational status. Therefore, establishing a complete monitoring system is an urgent requirement. However, the harsh environment of the photovoltaic power station imposes stringent performance requirements on the transmission equipment (industrial switches) of the monitoring system. Thus, achieving unmanned operation and remote management of the power station is of great significance. For the power station to truly achieve unmanned operation, necessary safety guarantees must be provided for the power station itself, monitoring various objects such as environmental conditions, critical equipment, and key locations to achieve genuine unmanned operation.

Wintop Solutions

The Donglao photovoltaic power generation site in Gengma County has 31 box transformers, each equipped with an RS608-2F6T ring network switch. The site is divided into six ring networks, with a CM6124-12GF12GT access switch configured in the core area. The solar box transformer uses RS608-2F6T hundred-megabit optical ports to form a ring network, featuring high bandwidth, high stability, and high real-time characteristics. The fiber ring network employs protective mechanisms to effectively prevent network failures caused by fiber damage, achieving a self-recovery time of<20ms. additionally="">
