With the booming development of the tourism industry, the increasing flow of visitors to scenic areas has raised higher demands for safety assurance and visitor experience. Video surveillance not only helps prevent and handle security incidents but also improves visitor satisfaction and optimizes scenic area management through real-time monitoring. By providing live video transmission, it creates a safer and more comfortable environment for visitors, while smart streetlights in scenic areas integrate video surveillance functions, perfectly combining lighting with monitoring to achieve comprehensive intelligent surveillance and management of the park.

The Pi River Greenway Music and Cultural Park is one of the important greenway construction projects in Chengdu's Tianfu Greenway "one axis, two mountains, three rings, and seven belts" and also the core axis of the Xindu District's Xiangcheng Greenway "one axis, three networks, multiple corridors." The park is themed on music and cultural creativity, integrating fashion with culture, combining local traditional culture with modern fashionable music elements, and creating multiple creative displays with local cultural characteristics. Additionally, the park features scenic points such as a fluorescent greenway, "Song of the Forest," "Waterside Platform," and "Pi River Artists" performance stage, forming a special landscape of “one segment, one scene.”
 
The Pi River Greenway Smart Streetlight Project aims to enhance lighting effectiveness and intelligence levels. This project utilizes efficient and environmentally friendly LED fixtures, equipped with smart control systems and sensors, to achieve intelligent adjustment of lighting parameters and create personalized lighting effects. Additionally, the project focuses on the integration of landscape and culture, designing and arranging the streetlights to harmonize with the surrounding environment, showcasing local characteristics, and incorporating historical and cultural elements. This not only enhances the visitor experience but also facilitates energy conservation and environmental protection, creating a more convenient, comfortable, and secure visiting environment for the park.

The Pi River Greenway Music and Cultural Park is a major scenic area and one of the important greenway projects in Chengdu and Xindu District. In traditional video surveillance, increasing data transmission demands face multiple project challenges. The main challenges in implementing video surveillance projects in large scenic areas can be summarized as follows:
 
 
1. Bandwidth Limitations:
 
With the increasing demand for HD video, limited network bandwidth becomes a bottleneck for transmitting multiple video streams, which can lead to video stuttering or quality degradation.
 
2. Signal Stability Issues:
 
The complexity of the scenic environment may lead to unstable wireless network signals, affecting real-time video transmission.
 
3. Insufficient System Scalability:
 
Traditional systems may be difficult to scale due to closed architecture or proprietary technology, making it costly to add new monitoring points or functions.
 
4. Presence of Blind Spots in Monitoring:
 
Improper placement of cameras or obstructions may lead to certain areas not being effectively monitored.
 
5. Challenges in Quality and Real-Time Capability:
 
Limited by camera quality, lighting, and processing capacity, video quality may not be clear, and real-time capability might be affected.
 
Additionally, the project also faces risks such as privacy protection, data security, and human damage. For instance, deploying surveillance cameras in scenic areas requires balancing visitor privacy rights with the needs for security monitoring; effective measures must also be taken to protect the security and integrity of surveillance data to prevent data leaks and malicious use; moreover, the maintenance and protection of monitoring equipment need to be strengthened to improve system resilience against damage.

The Pi River Greenway Music and Cultural Park Smart Streetlight Project has several main requirements for network transmission:
 
◆ Stability: Smart streetlights require real-time monitoring and control, so a stable and reliable network transmission system is necessary to ensure accurate data transmission and normal operation of the devices.
 
◆ Security: Smart streetlights involve numerous sensors and devices, necessitating robust security for network transmission to prevent data from being illegally accessed or tampered with.
 
◆ Efficiency: Smart streetlights need to quickly respond to control commands and sensor data collection, hence requiring an efficient network transmission system to achieve real-time data transmission and processing.
 
◆ Scalability: With the promotion and application of smart streetlights, the network transmission system should have scalability to meet the increasing demand for devices and data transmission.
 
◆ Compatibility: The smart streetlight project may involve different devices and technologies; therefore, the network transmission system should be compatible to support data transmission and interaction among various devices and technologies.
 
Wintop Solutions

The project carefully constructs a two-layer network architecture to ensure efficient and stable data transmission and processing. At the access layer, high-quality industrial-grade switches RS2310-2GF8GT and RS236-2GF4GT from Wintop were selected, totaling 384 units, which were properly housed in the equipment boxes of the smart streetlights. Various terminal devices on the smart streetlights are closely connected to these switches via network cables, while the switches establish a powerful cascading line via fiber optics, ensuring smooth data transmission to the core switch.
 
At the core layer, high-performance core switches were deployed to handle real-time exchanges of critical data across the system. Considering the long-distance characteristics of the greenway, we innovatively adopted a fiber optic port cascading networking solution that supports multi-tier extensions, greatly facilitating the addition of future devices. Additionally, we flexibly selected devices with different transmission distances based on actual distance requirements between points, catering to networking needs of various scales. This meticulously designed network architecture will provide solid data transmission and processing support for the smart streetlight system of the scenic area, further enhancing the lighting effects and intelligent management levels of the Pi River Greenway Music and Cultural Park.
